Pre-Foundation Program
Whittlesea Primary School values strong transitions to Primary School. Over the past few years, we have offered the ‘Pre-Foundation Program’ to students currently attending kindergarten. Commencing in July each year, we host a one-hour school experience weekly for our future Foundation students. The focus is on children becoming familiar with our school routines and facilities, as well as having a focus on early English and mathematical skills. Each year our Pre-Foundation children have an opportunity to meet our school leaders, experience specialist classes and participate in whole school events. One of our current Foundation teachers lead each session. Parents have the option to choose between two different sessions in any given week.
For enrolment applications or enquiries, please contact the office on 9716 2140.

6-7 Transition
The transition from primary school to secondary school is a significant step in every young person’s life. At Whittlesea Primary School we place great significance on this transition and work closely with our local schools to ensure our students are set for success. Throughout Year 6 students are afforded the opportunity to use a locker and they experience secondary style experiences which prepare them for the exciting challenges ahead. More information regarding successful transitions can be found at Moving from primary to secondary school | Victorian Government (www.vic.gov.au)
While parents / carers can access the Information Pack and Application Form on the Department’s website, our school will also make every effort to provide families of Year 6 students a copy of the Year 7 Placement Information Pack and Application Form.
